Senior Mechanical Engineer Aminov Search Partners Charleston, SC Job Details Full-time $165,000 a year 10 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering Mechanical engineering Full Job Description We are on the hunt for a driven and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to lead and enhance the performance of mechanical systems across four manufacturing sites. This expert will act as a traveling technical authority, collaborating with local maintenance and engineering groups to diagnose intricate issues, bolster reliability upgrades, manage key capital ventures, and ensure mechanical systems align with safety protocols, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Educational Qualifications/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory. Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy processing fields is essential. Expertise in steel, metals, or related heavy industries is advantageous. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks and mechanical design tools is a plus.
Key Skills and Abilities:
Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%, both air and land) to assist various facilities. Strong practical understanding of mechanical systems and industrial machinery. Demonstrated capability to operate independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Acquaintance with capital project budgeting, CMMS systems, and reliability initiatives.
Primary Duties:
Deliver expert troubleshooting across all sites for critical mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, and more. Analyze recurring failures or downtime patterns and apply corrective measures. Facilitate root cause analyses alongside plant maintenance and reliability teams. Oversee or aid in the planning, design, and execution of small to mid-scale capital projects. Partner with facility management on project scopes, specifications, vendor selection, and timeline maintenance. Support the launching and mechanical oversight of new equipment. Act as the technical liaison, standardizing procedures and mentoring teams in mechanical diagnostics. Review and improve PM/PdM procedures across locations. Assist with spare parts evaluations and advanced maintenance strategies. Identify and enact tactics to boost uptime, cut maintenance expenses, and enhance energy efficiency. Suggest design improvements and system modifications based on field insights.
