Job Description

ES AMER ARS PDCAD
division is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. This role will take place at our facility in Greenwood, SC. We are able to offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates within the United States. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting Medium Voltage Switchgear development projects. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Eaton's engineering and operations teams to ensure successful product release and to support all industrialization requirements for customer orders. The ideal candidate will support product realization, industrialization, and release activities for product assemblies, ensuring alignment with business and customer objectives. Up to 15% annual travel may be required for testing at labs, visiting suppliers, or supporting product industrialization activities. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you'll do:- Support and execute design projects, ensuring compliance with internal processes and standards.
- Work closely with the engineering team to coordinate design activities, resolve technical issues, and facilitate knowledge sharing for products.
- Support personnel in the execution of complex system tests at low and medium voltage.
- Collaborate with the operations team to support seamless product release and industrialization for customer orders, addressing manufacturability and assembly requirements.
- Drive product releases through product lifecycle management software, ensuring accurate documentation, configuration control, and timely delivery of product data to downstream teams.
- Facilitate implementation of systems and design automation updates to generate customer order documentation needed for operations and supply chain to schedule, build, and ship product.
- Support industrialization efforts by defining requirements, assisting with process validation, and coordinating with manufacturing and quality teams.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and cross-functional meetings to ensure project objectives are met.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and product quality.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic)Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of experience in engineering design or industrialization processes.

- 3+ years of experience in engineering design or industrialization processes.
- 2 years of experience with sheet metal enclosure and component design for electrical assemblies.
- At least 1 year of experience working with international engineering and operations teams.
- Design for Six Sigma Green Belt
- At least 1 year of experience in product industrialization, including process validation, manufacturing support, and customer order fulfillment.
Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Enovia for product release and configuration management.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical standards for Medium Voltage assemblies.
- Demonstrated experience in model-based design and simulation techniques for various aspects of system design including thermal management, dielectric, advanced mechanical systems, and reliability.
- Understanding of various aspects of switchgear systems and impact to the overall performance, familiarity of and application of available technologies, ability to develop trade-off analyses to enable realization of design solutions that meet performance requirements and cost objectives.
- Strong collaborative orientation and proven ability to work effectively in a global, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with management, engineering peers, and operations personnel.
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated, able to drive projects to completion on schedule with minimal supervision.
- Technical expertise in mechanical engineering design, product release processes, and industrialization support for switchgear.
- Proficient in 3D modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor) and PLM tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
