Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineers - Automated Machinery Greenville, SC | Pay Rate Negotiable We are urgently hiring Mechanical Design Engineers to support the design and development of custom automated machinery and manufacturing equipment. These positions are onsite in Greenville, South Carolina, with anticipated start dates immediately after Labor Day. Compensation Negotiable Compensation is negotiable based on experience Senior-level candidates are encouraged to apply Required Qualifications Strong SolidWorks proficiency Professional automated machinery, custom equipment, or industrial automation design experience Experience creating detailed 3D parts, assemblies, layouts, and 2D manufacturing drawings Knowledge of mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, actuators, conveyors, pneumatics, and machine guarding Understanding of GD&T, tolerances, fits, and manufacturing processes Ability to support machinery designs from initial concept through detailing, fabrication, assembly, and installation Experience collaborating with controls engineers, manufacturing teams, vendors, and project managers Education An engineering degree is preferred but not required for experienced senior-level candidates Candidates without a degree will be considered based on demonstrated automated machine-design experience Preferred Experience Custom or special-purpose machinery Robotic automation and robotic cells Material-handling, assembly, packaging, or automated production systems Tooling, fixtures, conveyors, feeders, and mechanical mechanisms Design for manufacturability and assembly BOM development and engineering change documentation Machine build, troubleshooting, commissioning, or installation support
