Job Description
Mechanical Designer - Custom Automation Our premier client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer in to design custom automation equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing systems. This is a hands-on design role for someone who enjoys turning concepts into real-world solutions and working closely with manufacturing teams throughout the build process. The ideal candidate will have experience designing custom machinery and understands how equipment is machined, fabricated, assembled, tested, and maintained. What You'll Do Design custom automation equipment, assembly systems, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing cells. Develop complete machine assemblies and subassemblies using SolidWorks. Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings. Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs). Select and integrate components into machine designs. Collaborate with machinists, fabricators, machine builders, electricians, and controls engineers. Support projects through fabrication, assembly, testing, commissioning, and installation. Troubleshoot and revise designs during machine build and startup. Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and customer requirements. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, custom machinery, automation, tooling, fixtures, or machine building. Advanced SolidWorks experience. Ability to develop complete machine designs from concept through production drawings.
