Associate Mechanical Engineer

Start designing tomorrow's future! Buro Happold has an exciting onsite assignment opportunity for talented MEP Engineer to work full time at a high-profile laboratory research tower in Memphis, TN. We are seeking a candidate with skills and experience at either a Senior, Associate, or Associate Principal grade level.

This MEP Engineer will work with the Construction Manager, MEP subcontractors, client, and architect daily, acting as a key design team technical advisor, and ensuring MEP design is implemented correctly on site.

Duties include MEP site visits, written reports, site observation reports, participation in subcontractor coordination meetings, daily communication with contractors, and production of design drawings for changes during CA. A baseline general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, and plumbing/fire protection systems is required. Anticipate workload being dedicated to this one project for the duration listed. Occasional travel from Memphis to Boston may be required.

Your key dutiesAs a key part of the team, your responsibilities will be varied, but likely to include:

Lead the on-site CA effort, representing the MEP engineering design team.

Manage project resources, client relationships, and deliver high-quality solutions.

Communicate directly with contractor and client and maintain client relationship.

Actively contribute ideas and innovative solutions.

Ensure practices, policies, strategy, and services represent the client's best interests and comply with current legislation and building codesYour skills and experienceExperience in Mechanical Engineering and HVAC with a baseline understanding of Electrical and PFP engineering, and experience coordinating across multiple disciplines.

For senior level engineers: 6+ years For associate level engineers: 8+ years (P.E. preferred, not required)For associate principal level engineers: 12+ years (P.E. required)Demonstrated experience in a senior/leadership role within MEP for an architectural engineering consultancy.

BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree.

P.E., professional engineer licenseLEED AP accredited preferredExperience using Revit and computational analysis tools.

Ideal sector experience in Labs, Healthcare.
