Job Description
About the Role As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the development and certification of complex pressure vessels and mechanical systems. You will leverage your technical expertise to drive innovation, ensure rigorous compliance with industry standards, and mentor team members to achieve high-impact engineering outcomes. Responsibilities Spearhead the design, analysis, and certification of pressure vessels and piping systems from initial concept through final fabrication. Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop precise 3D models, 2D drawings, and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ensure all engineering outputs strictly adhere to ASME codes and regulatory requirements, providing professional licensure stamps as necessary. Collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to optimize production processes and conduct thorough failure analyses. Provide technical mentorship to junior staff while serving as a Subject Matter Expert for internal design queries. Streamline engineering workflows by participating in continuous improvement initiatives and updating technical documentation. Coordinate with vendors to integrate cost-effective, high-performance components into our mechanical systems. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical degree. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience with a deep focus on ASME Section VIII applications. Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Strong understanding of material science, welding procedures, and fabrication techniques. Preferred Skills Experience with Codeware Compress, PV Elite, or ANSYS. Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems for document control. Background in highly regulated sectors such as oil & gas, chemical processing, or nuclear energy. Proven ability to manage complex projects and interface directly with cross-functional stakeholders.
