Job Description

Job Summary The R&D - Embedded Hardware Engineer I / II is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded hardware systems used in digital control products for power and industrial applications. This role ensures product reliability, performance, and compliance with engineering standards, and works closely with Software, FPGA/Firmware, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams to support company objectives from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Design & Development Design, develop, test, and release embedded hardware systems from initial requirements through the full product lifecycle. Develop concept-level hardware designs, perform circuit and component selection, create schematics, execute PCB layout, and support prototype builds. Execute hardware validation, verification, and bring-up activities to ensure designs meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements. Support product release activities, including design reviews, documentation completion, and transition to manufacturing. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including requirements specifications, design specifications, test plans/procedures, test results, and release records in accordance with company standards. Product Maintenance & Improvement Maintain and update existing hardware designs to add new features, improve performance, and address component obsolescence. Conduct/support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware-related issues. Assist with sustaining engineering efforts for released products. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Software, FPGA/Firmware, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful product integration. Support manufacturing and production teams during product bring-up and troubleshooting. Participate in design reviews to ensure reliability, manufacturability, and standards compliance . Testing & Validation Perform hardware debugging and validation using standard laboratory equipment. Verify hardware functionality against requirements and support compliance with applicable industry standards. Requirements & Experience Bachelor's or master's degree in electronic engineering or computer engineering from an accredited institution. 1-3+ years of relevant experience; strong new graduates with sufficient internship experience encouraged to apply. Experience with digital circuit design, including power rails, logic circuits, serial interfaces, and memory circuits. Proficiency in PCB design, including schematic capture, layout, component selection, and debugging. Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proactive and self-motivated, with strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional engineering environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience using PADS schematic and PCB layout tools. Knowledge of analog circuit design. Experience with CPLD or FPGA design. Embedded software experience, including C and/or 8086 assembly programming. Exposure to industrial, power, or control system applications. Working Conditions Full-time position. Office and laboratory-based engineering environment. May require occasional domestic and international travel.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
