This role will support the engineering team's mechanical design activities by applying technical knowledge toward the development and improvement of Sentient's family of products. You will help develop robust mechanical solutions required in the demanding environment of the high voltage power distribution grid. You will design, create supporting document package, and validate prototypes for both existing product iterations as well as new products. What You Will Do In Your Role Develop mechanical concepts, proposed features, design, model, and test prototypes Produce 3-D CAD files of designs using SolidWorks including final CAD files, vendor drawings, and specifications Perform advanced modeling and analysis of components and assemblies Generate mechanical assembly drawings for electro-mechanical structures and products Define key performance criteria and design appropriate test protocols to ensure reliable product performance and validation Identify and specify materials, critical dimensions, tolerances, and parameters like surface finish and hardness Create bills of materials for top level assembly, sub-assemblies, and components Evaluate costs involved in production at various volumes Produce samples of working models for demonstration Support senior team members on complex and involved design projects Collaborate with manufacturing engineering on production processes and refinements
