Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and manufacturing mechanical and thermal devices, including tools, engines, machines, and complex systems. This role requires applying engineering principles to solve complex problems, creating detailed CAD models, and ensuring products meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
Reasonability Design & Modeling:
Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
Analysis & Simulation:
Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to analyze structural and thermal performance.
Prototyping & Testing:
Build and test prototypes, analyze test data, and refine designs to improve performance or eliminate failures.
Manufacturing Support:
Oversee the manufacturing process, select materials, and collaborate with production teams to ensure design manufacturability.
Project Management:
Manage assigned projects, adhering to timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
Documentation:
Develop technical reports, specifications, and assembly instructions. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related STEM field from an ABET-accredited institution. Proven experience in mechanical design, simulation, and testing (0-25+ years depending on level, with 3-5+ years for mid-level). Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (Creo/SolidWorks) and FEA/CFD analysis tools. Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Professional Engineering (PE) license. Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASHRAE, ISO).
