7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM About the Position Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer / Draftsman on behalf of our client in Longview, TX. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining production-ready mechanical drawings while providing technical support to manufacturing operations. The Mechanical Engineer / Draftsman will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, vendors, customers, and shop personnel to ensure accurate designs, efficient fabrication processes, and successful completion of projects. Key Responsibilities Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings for manufactured products and equipment. Develop detailed fabrication, assembly, and production drawings. Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other engineering documentation. Support manufacturing operations through design improvements, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, and Quality departments to ensure project requirements are met. Maintain drawing revisions and engineering change records. Work closely with the Master Machinist to manufacture, test, and perfect custom parts and components. Collaborate with shop mechanics to ensure all necessary drawings and documentation are provided for upcoming jobs. Work with vendors to obtain material quotes and provide drawings for outsourced fabrication and machining. Work directly with customers to obtain or provide drawings and technical information required for sold projects. Assist with other engineering, drafting, and manufacturing-related duties as needed. Qualifications College education in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field preferred; degree is not required. Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Experience creating manufacturing and fabrication drawings. Strong understanding of machining, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to work effectively with engineers, machinists, mechanics, production personnel, vendors, and customers. Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
