Mesquite, Texas Job Summary The Equipment Shift Engineer- Night Shift is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of manufacturing equipment during the 6:00 PM-6:00 AM night shift.
Night Shift:
6:00 PM- 6:00 AM
- 12-hour continental shift
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support for high-volume production equipment during the night shift
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related issues to minimize production downtime
- Perform and support preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Monitor equipment performance, downtime, and recurring failures
- Identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend corrective actions
- Support equipment installations, modifications, startups, and improvements
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to keep machines running safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment documentation, and downtime reports
- Support and improve Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programs
- Assist with spare parts planning and equipment repair requirements
- Train and support production employees on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
- Follow all equipment safety procedures and manufacturing standards
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, uptime, and production efficiency Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Strong experience in high-volume manufacturing and production environments
- Hands-on experience with machine maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and repairs
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems quickly and effectively in a production environment
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions during the night shift
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety requirements and best practices
- Must be willing and able to work 6:00 PM-6:00 AM on a 12-hour continental schedule Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale or high-volume manufacturing operations
- Experience with automated production equipment, controls, sensors, motors, drives, or PLC systems
- Experience with equipment reliability, root-cause analysis, and downtime reduction
- Experience leading or supporting equipment improvement projects
- Solar, semiconductor, electronics, automotive, battery, or other advanced manufacturing experience is a plus
