In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design and producibility of mission-critical hardware, throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Essential Functions:

Develop optimized mechanical solutions for ruggedized defense communication equipment, including enclosures, chassis, thermal solutions, cable routing, and other hardware assemblies, with a focus on size, weight, and suitability for harsh military environments. Apply Design for Excellence (DfX) principles, including manufacturability, assembly, test, reliability, maintainability, and sustainment, to improve product robustness, environmental performance, and compliance with program requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, systems, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management, to drive design solutions that balance cost, performance, and producibility. Create and maintain mechanical design documentation, including 3D models, engineering drawings, tolerance analyses, and engineering change packages. Partner with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing organizations to resolve producibility challenges and improve design maturity for production readiness. Support prototype builds, design verification and validation testing, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation. Contribute to product qualification and risk-reduction efforts related to shock, vibration, thermal performance, and environmental requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Qualifications:
