Job Description:
Senior Mechanical Engineer - MEP Design A well-established engineering design firm is adding a senior mechanical engineer to its MEP practice. The role covers ground-up design/build work as well as renovation and system upgrades across an existing building portfolio, with a mix of technical production and oversight of junior staff. Responsibilities Own mechanical design on assigned projects from concept through construction administration Run load calculations, equipment selection and sizing, pressure drop and hydraulic analysis Produce drawings, specifications, and design documentation across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection scopes Serve as a technical resource on difficult design problems - evaluating options and landing on the most constructible, cost-effective solution Review the work of junior engineers and designers; provide direction, redlines, and mentorship Respond to contractor questions and field issues during construction, including written technical responses Requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline 6+ years of MEP design experience in a consulting or design-build environment PE license, or actively pursuing Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression system design and operation Comfortable reading and marking up mechanical and plumbing plan sets CAD proficiency; Revit experience a plus Clear communicator in writing and in front of clients
