Job Description

Lead, Mechanical Engineer Location:
Sterling, Virginia Job Type:
Full-Time Schedule:
9/80 schedule (every other Friday off) 1) Role & Responsibilities Lead design, development, and qualification of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Own projects from requirements and concept development through testing and integration. Create and review detailed mechanical drawings and technical documentation. Develop test plans, procedures, prototypes, and perform hardware testing. Conduct design optimization, trade studies, and material selection. Participate in PDRs, CDRs, peer reviews, and change-control activities. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and design teams. Guide designers, technicians, and operators on assigned projects. Support field testing, demonstrations, and customer technical briefings. Work independently while managing high-priority engineering tasks. 2) Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 9+ years of relevant experience. Graduate degree with 7+ years of related experience, or 13+ years of relevant experience without a degree. Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance or held within the past 2 years. Ability to obtain a favorable polygraph. Strong 3D CAD/modeling experience; Creo preferred . Knowledge of
ASME Y14.5 GD&T
standards. Experience with precision mechanisms, mechatronics, or electro-mechanical systems preferred. Strong technical communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience with prototyping, testing, integration, and hardware development. Aerospace, aviation, defense, or high-consequence engineering experience preferred. $100,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
