Mechanical Design Engineer Delta T Systems, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of energy efficient water and oil circulating temperature control equipment and portable chillers located in the greater Milwaukee area. For over 30 years, the company provides high quality, American made equipment to manufacturers in the Plastics, Pharmaceutical, Rubber, Food & Beverage, Die Casting, Printing, Energy, Machine Tool, Lasers, and electronics industries. We have been growing steadily over the last several years by developing innovative new products that lead the industry with the latest technologies. To accommodate our growth, we are seeking ambitious individuals to work in a rewarding, small team environment with a wide variety of duties. This is a long-term career opportunity. We will provide the right candidate with extensive on the job training. This position aids in developing products and coordinating custom jobs for industrial process cooling, heating, and fluid handling equipment by working directly with our Senior Product Engineers to create 3D models, drawings, and BOMs. In addition, this position will require interfacing with vendors, manufacturing and other groups as required. This position will also provide future growth opportunities as you gain experience with the product and the process temperature control industry.
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex assemblies, component models, and detailed component drawings in SolidWorks for the production of custom and standard industrial process cooling and heating equipment.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation using standard engineering practices.
  • Build and maintain bill of materials structures for both standard product and custom job releases within the business ERP software.
  • Provide shop support for the development of new products, building of customer units, and the maintenance of products.
  • Interface directly with vendors to find solutions, create specification drawings, and ensure that purchased components meet expectations regarding performance, quality, and appearance.
  • Respond to and implement continuous cost reduction and product improvements through the ECN process.
  • Provide support for the Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sales departments.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with 1-5 years of experience.
  • Experience with Solid Works (or similar 3D modeling software) and AutoCAD (or similar 2D software)
  • Experience in developing detailed 2D and 3D designs of complex parts, assemblies, and schematics.
  • Experience with ERP Business software preferred.
  • Experience in the design of industrial equipment preferred.
  • Experience with the design of piping, sheet metal, weldments, and assemblies preferred.
  • Experience with electrical components and schematics preferred.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills using the English language.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States.
