Responsibilities include:

Under general supervision, the SolidWorks specialist is responsible for producing detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D part models using SolidWorks software, adhering to the best practices set by the engineering group. This position also involves data entry, part modifications, and document management for both new and existing parts and products.

This position is intended for experienced drafting and document control professionals. It is not an engineering design or product development position.

Key Skills and Experience:

Assist engineers with quantity takeoffs, layout planning, and basic structural detailing tasks as assigned. Prepare 2D and 3D parts, section, assembly, detail, and source or specification control drawings based on customer drawings, 3D printed models, sketches/screenshots, layouts or verbal instructions. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles accurately to drawings. Add draft to parts previously optimized for 3D printing that are ready to move into plastic injection molding. Track sub-assembly changes and interferences that arise. Edit, revise, and update existing drawings and Bills of Materials in support of production, sales, and customers. Maintain high quality standards with minimal work discrepancies. Follow instructions and procedures well. Demonstrate consistent work habits. Work well with a wide variety of stakeholders from technical to executive-level. Adapt to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned. Education & Experience requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Associate degree or completed coursework in specialty design/drafting from a technical or trade school, OR a valid SolidWorks certification. Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience using SolidWorks in a non-educational setting. Careers sometimes take unexpected turns—however you got here, we are interested in hearing from you!
