Job Description

Mechanical Draftsman Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Project Engineering Manager, the draftsman performs a variety of engineering drawings related to all aspects of product development.
Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:
Prepare routine working sketches and layouts. Reverse engineering of components. Drawing/model conversion from 2D to 3D. Perform multiple drafting assignments requiring the application of design drafting principles, theories, standards, concepts, and techniques. Understands and uses labeling, dimensioning, and callout standards. Create section cuts/drawings from the designer's input. Work with and assist higher-level engineers and designers on a direct project-by-project basis. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Must be a team player, possessing the ability to collaborate with others and manage one's own reactivity during times of stress, change, or intense deadlines. Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must.
Qualifications:
Experience :
2-5 years of AutoCAD. Must possess excellent 3D modeling skills and excellent 2D CAD drawing skills using AutoCAD. Must be experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Education :
Minimum Associate's Degree in a Related Field. Trained knowledge of AutoCAD. Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, basic trig). Understand the inter-relationship of drawings. Understand the makeup of a typical drawing package. Complexity of duties : Attention to detail and technical abilities. Supervision received : Direct oversight from the Project Engineering Manager. Working conditions : Mostly indoors; some exposure to extreme noise, heat, cold, and dusty environments.
