Job Description

at Applied Industrial Technologies in Aurora, Illinois, United States Job Description The Mechanical Design Engineer role will work with our Mechanical Team to create new and modify existing designs for the automated systems that IRIS provides. More specifically they will be directly involved in the design of automated systems involving robotics, machine vision, and other advanced automation. The specific tasks of the mechanical design engineer include: Design parts and assemblies in SolidWorks specific to a given project Create revisions and drawing updates when changes to an existing part or assembly have been implemented Create as-built updates of parts and assemblies Self-check created drawings and related data to proactively identify factors that may affect the final product Create 2D layout drawings for customers Create Bills of Materials for assemblies Maintain part number and file structure schemes Create product support documentation including, but not limited to assembly instructions, parts manuals, and spare parts lists
Requirements:
Proficiency in SolidWorks Basic knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures Basic knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques Ability to create and/or modify drawings from provided markups with a high level of attention to details Founded in 1923, Applied Industrial Technologies (
