full-time Aegis is partnered with a growing manufacturer of custom-engineered electrical equipment used across data centers, utilities, industrial facilities, renewable energy, and commercial construction. They are seeking a Mechanical Designer / Drafter to join their engineering team in Addison, IL. This is a hands-on design role focused heavily on sheet metal components, enclosures, and complex assemblies for low and medium voltage electrical equipment.
Responsibilities:
Develop 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor Design sheet metal components, enclosures, and complex assemblies Create fabrication drawings, flat patterns, and BOMs Manage drawings, revisions, and workflows through Autodesk Vault Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical components Work directly with production to resolve fit-up, fabrication, and assembly issues Support design standardization and continuous improvement
Requirements:
5+ years of mechanical design/drafting experience Strong Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault experience Hands-on sheet metal and enclosure design experience Experience designing complex, multi-component assemblies Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes Switchgear, switchboard, control panel, or other electrical equipment experience is a plus This is a full-time, direct-hire, first-shift opportunity working on-site in Addison.
