A local, fast-expanding machine shop is currently seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join their team.

Core Responsibilities:

Utilize computer-aided design software, specifically Autodesk, to develop technical plans. Generate layouts for parts and jobs intended for laser and waterjet cutting processes. Translate rough sketches and conceptual specifications from engineers into formal designs. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to assist in the design of new products. Ensure fabricators have clear, detailed shop drawings to guide their production work. Compile comprehensive bills of materials tailored to specific job requirements. Define necessary production procedures, material types, and precise dimensions. Provide accurate quotes for projects ranging from individual components to complex assemblies using both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Professional Qualifications:

Background in manufacturing, machining, or metal fabrication environments. Skilled in the use of CAD programs, with a preference for Inventor experience. Deep knowledge regarding labor requirements, material properties, and fabrication techniques. Capable of analyzing and interpreting intricate technical drawings. Maintain a high level of precision and attention to detail in all documentation.

Technical Requirements:

Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory for this position.

Schedule and Compensation:

This is an evaluation hire position operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with an hourly rate of $20.00.
