A Mechanical or Electrical Drafter prepares detailed drawings needed to manufacture or repair machinery and equipment, with dimensions and other specific engineering data. Uses computer aided design software. May create diagrams for products that include mechanical and electronic components, such as cars or computers, or prepare the diagrams used to install wiring and electrical equipment in buildings or in electrical distribution systems.

Job Description
- Collaborate with team members to develop the ability to interpret specifications and contract documents accurately.
- Builds foundational knowledge of the mechanical and plumbing systems represented in our drawings.
- Learns the basics of how to read and interpret code.
- Learns the fundamentals of shop drawing creation, file management, and technical communication.
- Strives for proficiency in Revit, Autodesk Fabrication, Navisworks Manage, Bluebeam, Stratus and other BIM software's.
- Learn to communicate effectively with internal team members.
- Begins to understand BIMs financial impacts on projects.
- Spend some time in the field to learn what elements lead to successful projects.
- Learn the BOM, fabrication drawing, and Trimble layout basics.
- Adheres to the departmental code of ethics while exemplifying a level of professionalism that appropriately represents the Company.
- Provides production of models and shop drawings Qualifications Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Aptitude for technical means and methods.
- Analytical and structural mindset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Basic software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication, Bluebeam, Stratus) knowledge.
- Basic trade (mechanical and/or plumbing) knowledge. Travel Requirements
- 5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Climbing stairs.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Quiet environment.
- Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
