General Overview of Position:
Arcxis is seeking Mechanical designers and engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled primarily in single-family detached Residential HVAC design and Engineering. This includes performing Manual
J, S, D HVAC
design, as well as designing duct layouts in AutoCAD by integrating with our in-house frame designs in accordance with ACCA and IRC standards. Mechanical Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one stop shop solution to our partners residential design needs. Job:
Job duties will be to produce Manual J, S, and D calculation and designs using Wrightsoft and final construction documents in AutoCAD Mechanical HVAC engineering and design of single- and multi-family, low- and high-rise residential HVAC systems Generate detailed mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of mechanical systems for bidding and construction Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD Work with design staff and drafters to complete project
Competencies:
AutoCAD Wrightsoft Elite The ability to read blueprints Compute dimensions from architectural plans Detail oriented Ability to work well with other engineers/designers Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Code Knowledge Energy and building code compliance for mechanical systems Fluent in California Title 24 IRC Residential Codes ICC International Codes Uniform building codes Drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments. Team players with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels. Self-directed, with good initiative and a great multi-tasker Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc…)
Requirements:
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience. Preferred 3+ years' experience in Mechanical Design for residential building systems, code compliance, and construction. Mechanical Design experience with various cooling systems, VRF systems, ventilation, and exhaust systems. Mechanical Design experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed use buildings, residential and enclosed parking garages.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
