Job Description:
SUNY Broome Community College is currently accepting applications for a part-time Technical Assistant IIA in the Engineering Technologies Department. This is a twenty (20) hour per week position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Candidates comfortable in a student-centered environment and committed to the community college mission are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support faculty members in preparing for their laboratory classes. Perform the coordination of supplies and expenses including inventory, obtaining price quotes, preparing bids, and assisting in budget preparation. Maintenance of laboratories, laboratory equipment and machinery, and supply rooms. Supervise work-study personnel.
Requirements:
A minimum of an Associate's degree in mechanical/civil engineering or closely related field is required. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the college faculty, staff, and students. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship from the employer.
Additional Information:
The hourly rate for this position is $28.27. This will increase to $29.10 on September 1, 2026. This position does not offer benefits.
