DOE Responsibilities:
Create detailed technical drawings, and schematics based on specifications provided by engineering. Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks) to produce accurate and precise drawings. Revise drawings based on feedback from engineering and manufacturing. Ensure all changes are incorporated accurately. Use best judgement to solve complex design problems. Create designs which consider cost, simplicity, and production feasibility. Provide recommendations for material selection. Assist in cost and direct labor estimates as required. Work closely with engineering and project management to understand requirements and objectives. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity and accuracy in the design process. Attend project meetings to provide input and updates on design progress. Foster a positive work environment by maintaining professional courteous conduct and communication with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendor. Ensure all drawings comply with military, commercial, and international industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Conduct quality checks on drawings produced by junior drafters, peer designers and engineering, to ensure accuracy and completeness. Develop and maintain drafting standards and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency. Maintain organized records of all drawings and related documents. Ensure all files are properly stored and accessible for future reference. Stay updated with the latest developments in CAD software and drafting techniques. Propose and implement improvements to drafting processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 6 years prior experience or Master's degree and a minimum of 4 years prior experience. Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor. Siemens PADS and CAM 350 a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
