Primary Responsibilities :
Works alongside mechanical engineers to create and modify part and assembly models in 2D and 3D and generate and modify 2D drawings based on these models. Maintain structured bills of material and parts lists for assemblies. Reviews drawings for layout, completeness, accuracy, constructability, and adherence to internal design/drafting standards. Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of internal design/drafting standards. Ensures that designs are consistent with internal standards, project technical requirements and scope. Checks assigned drawings supplied by vendors, clients and other discipline groups throughout the project to ensure quality designs. Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of the assigned design tasks. Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Create 3D models for product design, system layout, and assembly processes, integrating piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and schematics as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel to translate conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings. Ensure designs conform to ASME codes & standards and incorporate GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for manufacturing precision. Prepare CAD documentation for fabrication, assembly, and installation processes while maintaining version control through PDM (Product Data Management) software. Assist in the development of building information modeling (BIM) tools for project visualization and coordination. Support construction teams by providing technical guidance during installation and commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design. Associates degree or higher in Drafting & Design Technology, Engineering Graphics or Engineering Technology preferred Well organized with ability to schedule own workload. Ability to comprehend, understand design concepts for large industrial equipment for pharmaceutical and like applications. As key member of Project Team may be required to interact with customers and various internal/external personnel. Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility. Consistently observe and promote Safety Health Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) site requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault Experience with P+ID and process piping Experience working with pressure vessels Ability to work overtime as needed Openness to travel (domestic or international)
