A Mechanical or Electrical Drafter prepares detailed drawings needed to manufacture or repair machinery and equipment, with dimensions and other specific engineering data. Uses computer aided design software. May create diagrams for products that include mechanical and electronic components, such as cars or computers, or prepare the diagrams used to install wiring and electrical equipment in buildings or in electrical distribution systems.

Job Description
Job Duties:
Create or revise accurate, detailed drawings of component parts and assemblies. Create or edit process routings, verify raw materials and create bills of materials. Maintain product drawings, specifications and related Engineering documentation. Interact with shop floor personnel to confirm routings, production, inspection and testing of parts. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications and other technical material. Ability to read and interpret gages, calipers and other inspection equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or defects. Hands-on experience with machining, assembly, inspection or testing would be a plus.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate areas of the machine shop and production floor. Able to lift 40 pounds or more, regularly climb stairs, and to immediately respond to emergency situations.Experience:
Entry-level, some experience preferred.AutoCAD:
demonstrated ability to create section and projection views.Education:
High School Diploma or GED Associate's degree or certificate in drafting is preferred.Job Type:
