AutoCAD Drafter/ QC Inspector S&C Distribution Company Tinley Park, IL Job Details Full-time $20 - $22 an hour 4 days ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications AutoCAD Teamwork Mechanical design Filing Attention to detail Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description S&C Distribution Company is a well-established (since 1990) small-business designer and manufacturer of a highly recognized line of railroad test equipment, control components and accessories. We primarily serve the railroad signal market, with a growing involvement in the field of locomotive test equipment. We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to join our team full-time. This individual should be knowledgeable in AutoCAD. This individual will play a crucial role in creating detailed drawings of our projects. Work will primarily consist of using AutoCAD to create (1) Housing machining drawings (2) Faceplate machining drawings (3) Labels for housings (4) Assembly drawings of tool-like products. This position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers. Responsibilities Develop and prepare AutoCAD drawings, and layouts based on Descriptions provided by engineers. Utilize AutoCAD, to create accurate designs. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications. Revise and update existing drawings as necessary to reflect changes in design or project scope. Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including technical reports and design specifications. Conduct quality checks on housings and other mechanical items to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards. Maintain organized files of all AutoCAD drawings and related documentation. Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Strong drafting skills with a keen attention to detail. Knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks. Familiarity with industry standards related to AutoCAD drafting.
