Join us to do the best work of your career as a Mechanical Piping Designer in our Power Group Team in Boston, MA (Hybrid role). Our Power Group, for which this role would be supporting, is leading the future of the energy and utility generation industry, focused on combined heat and power, alternative fuels like biogas and hydrogen, fuel cells, battery storage, among many other cutting-edge technologies. Some of your responsibilities include the followingProduce drawings and design of piping systems for industrial projects such as cogeneration power plants, central heating and cooling plants, renewable energy systems and large chillers and boilersDevelop equipment general arrangement drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), piping plan and section drawingsDesign and model equipment skids, selection and design of pipe supportsCoordinate layout of mechanical equipment and routing of piping, ductwork, and miscellaneous components with other trades Create and modify technical drawings and schematics from engineer markups using AutoCAD and REVITAssure designs are complete, accurate and in accordance with good engineering practiceReview project files for compliance with company and/or client standards and proceduresMay travel to project sites to observe existing conditionsOther duties as assigned Every Vanderweil Engineers team member brings something unique to the table. Here is what we are looking for with this role: Essential Skills & RequirementsAssociate degree or equivalent from a vocational training program or technical school 6 plus years experience desiredKnowledge of ASME codes and industry piping standards requiredExperience with AutoCAD Plant 3D P&ID is strongly preferred Familiarity with Revit and BIM360 Cloud Collaboration platform is a plusMotivated and self-sufficient, strong computer skills and detail-oriented perspectivesAbility to work individually or in a team setting with strong interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skillsCustomer service perspective with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and clientsKnowledge in MS Office products including Word, Excel, OutlookOur Flexible & Hybrid Work Culture At Vanderweil Engineers, we believe our best work is done when flexibility is offered. The compensation that we expect to pay for this position is commensurate with years of experience, professional licensure, and education and may range from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, plus benefits.
