Mechanical Designer Job Purpose The Mechanical Designer will support the Project Engineer with delivering detailed layouts to achieve a workable design prototype or assembly. These designs are mainly related to Wireline and MWD type instruments or some downhole tools. The designer is responsible for completing detailed designs of all components within the final layout and provides assistance in building and testing the final product and assemblies. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities Provide design layouts for mechanical parts and assemblies Detail design of mechanical piece parts and assemblies Specify mechanical tolerances and determine stack-up for proper assembly Maintain documents engineering change status Prepare and update assemblies and BOM's Provide design clarifications to machining vendors Education and Experience- Two years Mechanical drafting or technical degree
- Knowledge of machine shop practice is a plus
- 4-6 years of experience with Solid-Works
- Knowledge of Auto-Cad 14. Familiarity with Auto-Cad is a plus.
- Understanding of
ANSI Y14.5
Standards- Practice of GD&T.
- Hands-on exposure to mechanical assemblies and repair
- Familiar with Machinery's Handbook standard design practices
- 5+ years related mechanical design and drafting experience
