2D Drafter - Industrial Process Systems Contract-to-Hire Opportunity Position Overview The 2D Drafter supports engineering teams by producing accurate, high-quality drawings for industrial water and process systems. This role is primarily focused on developing and maintaining P&IDs using AutoCAD Plant 3D, with additional support for layout and fabrication drawings. Key Responsibilities + Create and maintain P&IDs in AutoCAD Plant 3D based on engineering input + Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, and detailed views + Support fabrication drawings for piping, frames, and skidded systems + Incorporate redlines, RFIs, vendor data, and as-built updates + Ensure drawings meet company standards, client requirements, and codes + Coordinate with engineers and project teams to resolve design issues + Support drawing packages for submittals and construction (IFC) + Maintain organized CAD files, revisions, and QA/QC checks Required Qualifications + 3-7 years of drafting experience in an industrial EPC or design/build environment + Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D experience (P&IDs) + Solid understanding of piping systems, layouts, and drafting standards + Ability to read PFDs, specifications, and engineering markups Preferred Experience + Fabrication drawings (piping, skids, supports) + Exposure to water treatment, chemical, or semiconductor environments + Familiarity with isometrics, line lists, and basic BOMs + Experience coordinating with fabrication or construction teams + EducationAssociate degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent experience Additional Information + Contract-to-hire opportunity + Minimal travel (occasional local fabrication shop visits) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.
