Job Description:
24 months long contract to begin, 100% onsite role in Fremont, CA. We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechatronics Engineer focused on system testing and guiding software and hardware engineers to improve designs. The ideal candidate will work in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to design, test, and troubleshoot special application end effectors on a 6-axis robot. The ideal candidate is organized, thorough, possesses critical analytical skills and leadership skills. Hands-on development and prototyping are essential for success in this role.

Design a learning pipeline for computer vision algorithms Design, build, test, and troubleshoot robotic systems Integrate sensors and actuators into robotic systems and analyze and optimize robotic system performance and accuracy Create user interfaces for robotic systems Own tasks and projects, ensuring proper release and hand-off Apply engineering theories and methods to solve technical problems Conduct pilot studies and formal experiments (using Design of Experiment principles) to benchmark performance against state-of-the-art approaches using well-reasoned metrics Generate reports to support technical recommendations Work within cross-functional team and assist in the design, analysis and performance evaluation from concept to completion Implement process control techniques like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Work onsite in the lab 5 days/week Travel occasionally Train other engineers Who We're Looking For Degree in mechatronics, robotics or related field 3-10 years of experience in robotics (manipulation) and computer vision Excellent intuition with system hardware and physics Background in robotics /machine (deep) learning /reinforcement learning Experience with C++ and Python in Linux environments Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Understanding of Design of Experiment (DOE) principles Experience with version control (preferably Git) Ability to work independently Understanding of statistical process control and analysis Experience in project management Preferred Qualifications Experience with Behavior Tree / MoveIt Experience with robotic hardware design and end effector application development. Proficient in MCAD model creation (Siemens NX, Creo, Solidworks). Knowledge of C++, Python, OpenCV, TensorFlow or PyTorch, JS + React, ROS, ROS2 Experience with web APIs or SDKs Embedded Linux experience working with Kernels Project management experience Our Client is a Fortune 350 company that engages in the design, manufacturing, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment.
