Maintains current knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and technologies relevant to industrial automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing Conducts training classes and labs on-site at Wake Technical Community College and Industry and Employer Sites Stays abreast of industry trends and incorporates new information into the delivery of courses as necessary to maintain the relevancy of instruction and contributes to discussions and planning related to lab equipment Establishes and executes meaningful learning objectives, modifies instructional strategies as needed to meet the diverse needs of students, and uses student-centric approaches to learning Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Grades and returns student work in a timely manner Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Collaborates with Facilities and other departments to support program equipment and operational requirements, including researching and recommending equipment purchases Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course Maintains regular office hours Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching Serves on college or department committees Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text, and constructing a syllabus Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology Attends professional development opportunities Participates in graduation exercises as required

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and technologies relevant to industrial automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing Proven ability to design and facilitate hands-on, engaging learning experiences in technology and automation-focused programs Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others Experience in developing and delivering innovative curriculum and training programs that meet current and future workforce needs, with a track record of implementing programs that achieve measurable outcomes, such as increased certification rates, improved job placements, or successful industry partnerships Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and convey complex technical concepts clearly Ability to adapt instructional methods and strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners and industry requirements #

IDHP Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering Technology or closely related engineering discipline Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience in areas such as manufacturing, automation, maintenance, robotics, PLCs, or electromechanical systems Possess the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) Gold and Silver certifications OR Employee must earn the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) (8) Gold and (8) Silver certifications by the date set forth in the offer letter

Preferences:

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or closely related engineering discipline Two years of instructional/teaching experience at the post-secondary level Documented industry training in automation equipment (e.g., FESTO, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc) NC3 Mechatronics and/or Mechatronics Instructor Certifications Industry-recognized mechatronics certifications Familiarity/experience with advanced manufacturing certification entities such as SACA, PMMI, NC3 and/or MSSCUSA, as well as a proven ability to integrate these certifications into workforce and curriculum programs. Experience with advanced manufacturing training systems such as Amatrol or Festo, and proficiency in leveraging educational technologies like simulation tools or VR/AR applications to enhance learning. Experience with electrical, pneumatics, robotics, or PLCs Rockwell and/or Siemens), with a track record of applying interdisciplinary approaches and fostering collaboration across STEM fields.
