Job Description
The Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for DC motors and their electronics that control the roof system. The primary scope of this position is to act as an expert in this area and to act as a liaison between the OEM and Applications Engineering groups in Europe, North America and Asia. This position will be focused on developing the requirements and systems as well as providing overall direction to the OEM, Engineers, suppliers and outside test facilities to meet testing objectives and timing. This position is working at a specialized professional level and is considered to possess expertise in the electro-mechanics and electronics. Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the main customer and internal department contact on all programs to provide design and test direction in all areas regarding electrical, electronics and motors.
- Develop an expertise in systems motors and electronics.
- Gather and understand the voice of each local Customer for Product Strategy and Customer Strategy.
- Maintain and foster good communication with all the other Engineering teams in North America, Asia Pacific and Europe (including the Centers of Expertise.)
- Address plant or supplier issues. Support root cause analysis including testing of parts and validation of corrective action. Present or support supplier corrections to customers.
- Support supplier changes or supplier resourcing by approving drawing changes if required, requesting pilot parts, completing validations plans, requesting testing and reporting test results including reporting results to customer.
- Adopt and lead the use of change management system at their local site.
- Update Bills of Material for all product changes, make drawing changes.
- Develop, read and understand Circuit Boards/PCB's.
