Where You Will Work Tyrone is an open-pit copper mining complex located in Grant County, New Mexico - just 10 miles south of the historic mining community of Silver City. The copper processing facilities currently consist of a solvent extraction/electrowinning operation with an annual maximum capacity of approximately 100 million pounds of copper. • Assists in the planning and performing of mining engineering duties related to development and production at assigned site
• Assists in the development of mining plans to support short and/or long-range planning and production goals
• Participates in engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirements.
• Monitors mining methods and equipment, with a view to improving performance
• Assists in developing and managing mine, mine ventilation, waste dumps and stockpile designs
• Assists in identifying courses of action to improve safety, operational efficiencies, control production costs and protect the environment.
• Perform other duties as required ## What You Bring To Freeport
• Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering with no experience required
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of mining engineering
• Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

## Preferred Qualifications What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $75,000-$104,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
