Planning, estimating, and conducting subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs in soil and rock. Interacting with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, drillers, and clients in a confident and professional manner. Performing geotechnical analyses and design of tunnels, shallow and deep foundations, embankments/cuts, pavements, and earth retaining systems for transit, transportation, buildings, and water projects. Preparing geotechnical memoranda, data and design reports. Preparing design drawings and specifications. Providing geotechnical support during construction.
Requirements:
Must have Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related. 1 year of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, Civil Engineer, or related. Internship experience is accepted.
Experience must include:
Coordinate subsurface investigations and drilling subcontractors to perform Standard Penetration Testing (SPT) and rock coring per project technical specifications. Assign and review laboratory testing programs (Atterberg limits, sieve analysis, and strength tests) to determine soil engineering properties for design recommendations. Provide geotechnical recommendations for foundations, pavement and retaining structures.
