A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

This position will require access to ITAR and/or EAR controlled technical data, technology or source code, and requires that all individuals in this role be authorized to access such information
General Description:
The Quality Assurance, Level II NDE Technician reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor. This position shall perform the functions and methods for which certifications are held.
Shift:
Monday - Thursday 4:00pm-1:30am Working Fridays 3:00pm-11:30pm Off every other Fridays and Weekends Overtime available per Company needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform RT and UT NDE inspections and interpret results Monitor material and supplies Maintain equipment calibrations and maintenance cycles Develop inspection techniques Support production operations
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required Visual acuity Jaeger 1 or equivalent and 20/40 minimum vision required, corrected or uncorrected Minimum of three (3) years, experience in NDE of aerospace hardware, specifically with composites, rubber, and bonded structures, preferred Experience in Visual and dimensional inspections, preferred Candidate must have a minimum of a level II certification and/or qualification in Radiography and Ultrasonic in accordance with NAS 410, or equivalent (Objective evidence required. Successful completion of the Level II examinations for UT or RT in accordance with
RQC 0526
(NAS 410), upon employment Strong mathematical skills
Special Tasks and Focus Areas:
Perform RT and UT NDE inspections and interpret results Perform UT and RT examinations on REDAR manufactured and procured product Perform NDE system self-audits Monitor flow and traceability of product submitted to the department Monitor material and supplies Monitor inspection consumables (film, chemicals, etc.) inventories Order materials and supplies Maintain equipment calibration and maintenance cycles Perform system checks and calibrations of inspection equipment Support service and maintenance of equipment Assist in maintaining radiation monitoring, and other required systems Develop inspection techniques Evaluate new jobs and programs and assist in technique development Support the manufacture of calibration standards Verify and/or upgrade existing inspection methods Review specification and drawing requirements Support production operations Perform standard visual and dimensional inspections on product, when applicable Interface with production personnel in order to insure complete and accurate NDE inspections are performed and documented Support Cause and Corrective Action (CCA) investigations R.E.
