A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.
Position Summary ND Testing is seeking an experienced Penetrant Testing (PT) Level II Technician to perform liquid penetrant inspections on aerospace, defense, and commercial components in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company procedures. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining the highest quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform Fluorescent and Visible Liquid Penetrant Testing (FPI/LPI) on customer parts. Interpret and evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable specifications and acceptance criteria. Prepare parts for inspection through proper cleaning and surface preparation.
Operate penetrant processing equipment including:
Wash stations Drying ovens Developer systems Black light inspection booths Verify penetrant system performance through daily process control checks. Complete inspection reports and certifications accurately. Maintain traceability and documentation in accordance with customer and quality requirements. Review work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and customer specifications. Identify and document nonconforming material. Ensure compliance with NAS410, ASTM, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures. Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of penetrant processing areas. Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations. Assist in training PT Level I technicians when assigned. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned.
