Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance

We are hiring a Thermal Protection System (TPS) Technician in Kennedy Space Center, FL, to support aerospace manufacturing and spaceflight hardware production through TPS foam application, aerospace coatings, chemical processing, and material preparation activities. This role requires experience with aerospace manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, industrial coatings, primer mixing, and Thermal Protection System materials used in human spaceflight and aerospace programs.

Responsibilities:

Apply Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) materials, coatings, and foam to aerospace and spaceflight hardware.

Mix and apply primers, chemicals, and related materials in accordance with manufacturing specifications and process requirements.

Interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and process documentation.

Perform work on structures and systems using established drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.

Measure, mix, and apply chemicals using proper ratios and application techniques.

Follow safety procedures and quality standards when handling chemicals and manufacturing materials.

Support assembly and processing activities in manufacturing and production environments.

Perform work in confined or restricted-access areas and maintain productivity while working in tight spaces for extended periods.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

1+ year of related manufacturing or TPS experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Experience with primer mixing, chemical applications, and material ratio control

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and process specifications

Experience working with industrial chemicals and aerospace coatings

Ability to work in confined spaces for extended durations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting a NASA program
  • Experience in a clean room manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing experience supporting human spaceflight, spaceflight, or aircraft hardware programs
  • Experience and/or formal coursework in Thermal Protection Systems (TPS)
