A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description

Tasks:
  • Perform Non-Destructive testing on Railcar Tank Cars.
  • Interpret drawings, read procedures, and interpret welding symbols.
  • Complete detailed reports in PDF, Excel, and Word format.
Skills:
  • Be able to use NDT Equipment (Ex, Epoch 600, Epoch 650, Epoch 6LT, Olympus 45MG, Magnetic Yoke, Everest XL Pro Video Scope
  • Familiar with PDF, Word, Excel
  • Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lifts up to 150 pounds.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and the scope of work.
  • Must possess basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
Qualities:
  • Must be able to pass a Visual Acuity Exam and Color contrast exam or Shades of Gray Exam.
