Cardinal Staffing Services, is immediately hiring for a Parts Processor/ Inspector Trainee role in Troy, MI. As a Inspector trainee for Cardinal Staffing Services, you will work in a fast-paced distribution environment and be involved in all aspects of warehouse operations including: Key Responsibilities include: Trains to conduct penetrant and magnetic particle tests on metal parts to determine if parts meet non-destructive specifications: Reviews orders to determine type of test requested, test procedures to follow, and part acceptability criteria. Applies agents, such as cleaners, penetrants, and developers and light oil which acts as medium, to parts, or heats parts in oven, to prepare parts for testing. Determines test equipment settings and appropriate material according to specifications, type of metal, thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables, using standard formulas. Operates test equipment such as magnetic particle and penetrant machines to standard settings, following manual instructions. Trains to set up equipment to perform tests, and conducts tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed. Examines surface-treated materials during penetrant and magnetic particle tests to locate and identify cracks or other defects, using black light. Marks tested parts to indicate defective area. Evaluates test results against designated standards, utilizing knowledge of metals and testing experience. Prepares reports outlining findings and conclusions. May perform similar tests on nonmetallic parts or structures. In accordance with company QA procedures, completes required classroom and on-the-job training hours. Reviews training materials to complete training requirements and prepare for tests and examinations; to include self study required on non-work time. Completes and passes successfully examinations required to obtain credit for formal training hours, and demonstration of capability Reviews customer purchase orders and shippers, shop job travelers, process sheets and follows written and verbal instructions to perform the following: Provide computer data input & forms Maintain Quality Standards and Logs Shipping & Receiving of Projects Pre-Inspection Processing, set up & prep Post-Inspection Processing Part Marking and Disposition Materials Handling Packaging/Unpackaging Parts Cleaning Facility, Equipment & Materials Maintenance Driving forklift to load and unload trucks Assures that work area is kept clean, in good repair and supplied with necessary tools and materials. Under general supervision periodically performs preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, machinery and grounds; to include removal of ice and snow or debris from walkways, roads, parking lot or greenbelt. Performs other duties as assigned.
