A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description

Job Description A client in the defense industry is looking for a Non-Destructive Evaluation Technician that will be performing inspections on materials and components using ultrasonic testing techniques. This role is responsible for identifying defects, discontinuities, and quality concerns without damaging the material being inspected. Most of the materials they will be working on are composite bonding carbon fiber, kevlar, boron, inconel, titanium and invar.   • 1-3 years of NDE/NDT experience. (Non-Destructive Evaluation/Non-Destructive Technician).
  • Composite material inspection experience, specifically Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Boron, Inconel, Titanium, and Invar
  • Any of the following qualification/certifications:
NAS410, SNT-TC-1A, ASNT CP-189, ISO
9712, or EN 4179
  • Ultra sonic testing equipment experience such as Olympus
  • Experience with Eddy Current, and/or X-ray testing (RT).
  • Knowledge on honeycomb structures and bonded assemblies inspections.
  • Bachelor's in mechanical/electrical engineering or any related field.
