CLASSIFICATION

: Hourly Non-Exempt (Paid Overtime)

GENERAL:

Responsible for conducting inspections and reporting results in support of production operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Perform most hardness, inspections, including flat, round, and irregularly shaped parts with close supervision. Calibrate and operate all hardness testing equipment. Identify and report conditions that do not meet customer specifications. Conduct hardness inspections using all given scales. Use micrometers, calipers, and other gages as required. Maintain clean work areas and orderly storage of fixtures, gages and special inspection equipment. Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift 50 lb. parts and other items from floor to waist on a regular basis while protecting lifted items from damage. Must be able to stand for several consecutive hours without rest, with frequent bending and reaching. Must be able to tolerate a hot work environment periodically, even at times when summer outdoor temperatures combine with residual heat from furnaces. Must be able to walk within and between areas constantly and climb stairs occasionally.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. Must be able to retain instructions sufficient to perform repeat tasks successfully and with minimal supervision. Must be able to comprehend and comply with requirements of the Quality Systems Manual as instructed.
