A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description

This is a non-remote, field-based travel position .The shops are located across the continental US, including but not limited to Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York, Utah, Ohio and numerous other locations. Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) Help protect the quality and safety of major bridge projects nationwide. Join a growing NDT team with strong pay, benefits, paid travel, and professional growth. What You'll Do Inspect bridge fabrication and structural steel work. Verify welding meets drawings, codes, and specifications. Perform and review required NDT inspections. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports. Document inspection results and project progress. Maintain inspection equipment and calibration records. Follow jobsite safety rules and PPE requirements. Travel to assigned fabrication shops nationwide. Must-Have Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. Five years of bridge construction experience. Strong knowledge of
AWS D1.1
welding code. Strong knowledge of
AWS D1.5
welding code. Non-destructive testing (NDT) experience required. Ability to travel 100% across the continental US. Nice to Have Level II PT certification. Level II MT certification. Level II UT certification. Level II VT certification. Department of Transportation inspection experience.
Pay & Schedule Pay:
$35-$50 per hour. Pay depends on current certifications.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday.
Travel:
100% travel nationwide. Assignments may last weeks or years. Weekend home time when project schedules allow. Airfare home is targeted monthly when needed. $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

Experience:
bridge construction or bridge fabrication: 5 years (Required)
License/Certification:
