View More Jobs Certified Welding Inspector Pelzer, SC, United States Job Description Job Summary Vertiv is seeking an experienced Structural Weld Inspector to oversee and verify the quality of welding activities related to structural steel fabrication and erection. This role is responsible for ensuring all welding work meets applicable codes, project specifications, and company quality standards through detailed inspection, documentation, and coordination with production and project teams. Key Responsibilities Perform visual inspection of structural steel welds in shop and field environments Verify welds comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, project specifications) Inspect joint preparation, fit‑up, weld size, profile, and overall workmanship Identify, document, and report non‑conforming work and verify corrective actions Maintain accurate inspection reports, logs, and quality documentation Communicate inspection findings clearly with welders, supervisors, engineers, and clients Support internal audits, customer inspections, and regulatory compliance activities Promote a strong culture of quality and safety across all work areas Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience inspecting structural steel welds Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, weld symbols, and specifications Experience performing shop and field weld inspections Strong documentation and reporting skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with heavy structural steel, industrial, or bridge projects Experience working in fast‑paced fabrication environments Skills & Competencies Excellent attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Professional, fair, and consistent approach to quality enforcement Strong organizational and time‑management skills Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work in fabrication shops and active construction sites Ability to stand, climb, bend, and work at heights as required Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as project needs dictate Ability to work in varying weather and industrial conditions About Vertiv Vertiv (
