A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Department Industrial Technology Position Type Faculty Employment Status Adjunct Salary Adjunct Stipend Open Date 11/12/2025 Close Date Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary Provide Instruction in various Non-destructive Testing ( NDT ) methods. This will be taught using a combination of lab, lecture, and modeling . Training will be in accordance with ASNT's SNT -TC-TC1A and National Aerospace StandardNAS -410.
Del Mar College offers training in five different NDT disciplines: Liquid Penetrate, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Radiography and Ultrasonic. Instructor shall have a working knowledge of all five (5) inspection techniques. Candidates for this posting must be willing to obtain Level-II certification in all five (5) disciplines. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in Non-Destructive Testing- OR•ten (10) years of documented work experience.
- AND•ability to re-certify within six (6) months of hire.
