A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is looking for an NDT Inspector II to support our federal client in Newport News, VA. Candidates should be able to perform inspections independently, read shipyard drawings, evaluate defects, prepare reports, and work closely with QA and production teams supporting Navy vessel maintenance and repair activities. The compensation for this position ranges between $30-$40/hr depending on experience, and the hours are Monday through Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm. Skills and Requirements High School Diploma, Trade School, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of related NDT, QA, or shipyard structural supervisory experience. Current NDT Level II certifications (VT and MT a must, PT a plus). Ability to obtain company NDT qualifications within 90 days of hire. Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items MIL-STD-271 and
MIL-STD-1689.
Ability to read and interpret NAVSEA drawings and technical documentation. Experience working in a shipyard, naval maintenance, or marine industrial environment. Ability to work effectively with QA teams, inspectors, and production personnel.
