A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Job Description

Overview VTG is seeking a NDT and Weld Program Manager to support our Virignia Beach location. What will you do?
  • Serve as the responsible NDT Level III for Fleet Modernization.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Fleet NDT Program.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Fleet Welder Qualification Program.
  • Develop, review, approve, and maintain NDT procedures, welding procedures, and associated technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customer, NAVSEA, AWS, ASME, and company standards.
  • Qualify and certify NDT personnel.
  • Qualify, certify, and maintain welder qualifications and continuity records.
  • Oversee qualification of welding procedures and associated testing.
  • Maintain certification records and qualification documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance for NDT methods, welding processes, and inspection requirements.
  • Interpret applicable codes, specifications, and technical standards.
  • Support Operations, Engineering, and Project Management with technical consultation.
  • Evaluate new inspection technologies, welding methods, and industry best practices.
  • Develop NDT qualification and certification training programs.
  • Develop welder qualification and certification training programs.
  • Mentor inspectors, welders, and technical personnel.
  • Promote standardized technical practices throughout Fleet Modernization.
  • Maintain program records, certifications, and qualification documentation.
  • Review technical requirements during proposal development.
  • Support Basis of Estimate development for NDT and welding activities.
  • Evaluate future technical qualification requirements and program enhancements. Do you have what it takes? High School Diploma / GED Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance Eight (8)
  • Ten (10) years of related experience NDT Level III certification
Pay Range:
VTG's estimated starting pay range is $45
  • $60/hr which is a general guideline for the geographic location.
When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance Eight (8)
  • Ten (10) years of related experience NDT Level III certification
