Operation Safety Engineer JSM Consulting India Sunnyvale, CA Job Details Full-time | Contract $40 - $43 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications ADAS Stakeholder engagement Safety regulations Reliability analysis Analysis skills Continuous improvement Hazard mitigation Cross-functional communication Full Job Description In this role, you'll facilitate risk assessments, support incident investigations, monitor fleet safety, and help maintain governance frameworks that align with regulatory requirements and operational objectives. You'll also play a key role in establishing, maintaining, and improving operational safety processes across multiple teams and geographic locations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in system or operational safety and thrives in cross-functional environments. They combine analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvements to safety processes. As an Operations Safety Engineer, you'll: Participate in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) reviews to identify design, requirements, and hazards that require operational mitigations. Conduct operational hazard assessments using methodologies such as FMEA, STPA, FTA, and bowtie analysis , while maintaining safety risk registers and mitigation plans. Support root cause investigations for safety incidents, recommend corrective actions, and help ensure effective implementation. Partner with engineering teams to evaluate the operational impact of system and software changes while supporting compliance with industry safety standards. Monitor fleet safety metrics, including near misses, disengagements, and interventions, and help drive continuous feedback between operations and engineering teams. Required skills We're looking for someone who has: Experience with cross-functional working groups collaborations, ideally spanning multiple teams or geographies. Background in System Safety or Operations Safety, ideally in autonomous vehicles, ADAS, robotics, or a similarly regulated/complex domain. Strong knowledge of safety methodologies (FTA, FMEA, STPA, bowtie analysis) and ability to apply them in operational contexts. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to influence engineering, policy, and frontline teams alike.

$40.00 - $43.00 per hour
