- 5:00 PM Overview System One is seeking experienced Nuclear Engineer V
- Electrical professionals to support major power plant upgrade, modification, and modernization projects at commercial nuclear facilities.
This position will be responsible for leading electrical engineering activities involving plant systems, equipment upgrades, design modifications, and technical project execution. The successful candidate will have extensive nuclear industry experience and the ability to independently manage engineering assignments while providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers. Responsibilities Perform electrical engineering design and analysis for nuclear power plant systems and modifications Develop engineering calculations, specifications, design criteria documents, and modification packages Define project scope and support system functionality development Evaluate and select electrical equipment, components, and instrumentation Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, and client representatives Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives Support plant walkdowns, field activities, and implementation efforts Lead technical reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers Ensure compliance with applicable NRC regulations, industry codes, and plant requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Electrical Engineering preferred) Minimum 20 years of engineering experience Minimum 10 years of commercial nuclear power experience Experience supporting operating nuclear power plants, system modifications, and plant upgrades Knowledge of NRC regulations, nuclear licensing requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards Experience reviewing and approving engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) License Master's Degree in Engineering Previous field experience supporting nuclear plant projects Experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers Additional Requirements Ability to travel to client sites as required Ability to perform plant walkdowns, including climbing ladders and accessing controlled areas Ability to work overtime when needed Must pass all applicable background checks, drug screening, and security requirements
