Job Description
Job Description The Senior Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer will develop the nuclear criticality safety design basis and practical design requirements for a greenfield TRISO fuel manufacturing facility handling uranium enriched up to 19.75 weight percent U-235. This person will evaluate fissile material across multiple forms, configurations, process states, storage arrangements, transfer activities, maintenance conditions, waste streams, and credible abnormal events. The role requires direct experience performing criticality safety analysis for material-handling or fuel-cycle operations. Reactor physics experience alone may not provide the necessary background because this assignment focuses on preventing inadvertent criticality when fissile materials are handled in varying forms and configurations throughout a manufacturing facility. The selected engineer must be comfortable performing technical studies, developing controls, writing the supporting technical basis, and working directly with process and facility designers. This is 100% remote and pay rate ranges from $90-130/hr. We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.
